In Oregon, the statute of limitations is 3 (three) years from the date of death of the decedent.

Generally the SOL is 3 years in Oregon. It can be longer depending on when the family received notice of the cause of death.

In Washington state, a wrongful death lawsuit must be filed within three years of the date of death.

An action for wrongful death ordinarily must be commenced within 3 years of the date of the injury which caused the death is discovered or reasonably should have been discovered, but no later than 3 years after the death of the injured person.
