The first step is for the inmate to attempt to do it themself. This comes directly from the MDOC website: How does an inmate request transfer to another facility? The inmate must complete a transfer request form through the case manager. If the transfer request is Approved, the offender’s name is placed on a transfer list. The inmate will be transferred based on Mississippi Department of Corrections need. Placement on the transfer waiting list does not mean the transfer will occur. A mileage fee will be deducted from the inmate’s account for cost of the transfer.
