A: There are so many important questions to ask in a DUI case. The two most important are: Were you "driving"? and Were you under the influence of intoxicants? If the answer to either question is no, you may have a very strong defense.

There are also many other questions a good lawyer will get answers to - questions on topics like why you were stopped, whether the government illegally seized any evidence, who the witnesses were, etc.

A: One of the most important questions to ask your attorney is what experience they have in prosecuting or defending DUI cases. Many attorneys would have to say "none." Remember, attorneys are just like any other profession--you need to ask questions to make sure your attorney has the kind of experience that work to your advantage.
