If your health condition is a qualifying disability as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) you can request your employer to provide you with additional leave as a reasonable accommodation. Visit the EEOC website at http://www.EEOC.gov for more information about the ADA and what qualifies as a disability under the ADA.
