New Port Richey, FL asked in Family Law for Florida

Q: My ex and I were together for 10 years. He has 2 children from a previous relationship that I have taken care of since

They were 1 and 2 years old. we have 2 more children together. I am the only mother those boys know. In fact, they think I am their mother. We never told them other wise. Last year my ex left me and left all of the children with me, even his two children from his previous relationship. One of the boys has been living with him for about 6 months now and the oldest stayed with me. Over the weekend, he came and took the oldest from my home while I was not there. The babysitter was there. Do I have any legal rights? He did abandon us and does not pay child support. The oldest child is 12 and does not want to live with him

A: You have no rights to children not legally yours. You can and should go for custody and support as to the kids you have with him
