Fort Pierce, FL asked in Criminal Law for Florida

Q: Can i write a letter to a judge or ask for some kind of hearing to have my record cleared?

Im looking to see what options i have available to me. In 2007 i was 19 years and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription. It was my first offense, i had no lawyer and judge gary sweet sentenced me to 2 years felony probation with a 10pm curfew. I finished probation, and paid my dues. I have caused no trouble with the law since. But it has ruined my life. I have had an impossible time finding a good job, i had to change my major in Radiology because of my charges and it has been keeping me from progressing in life. I have been told that because adjudication was withheld that i am not eligible to get it expunged off of my record and was hoping to see if there was a way to plea my case. Im not sure if i can write a letter to a judge or how else i can go about having this fixed. Is there anything you may be able to do for me?

A: This is the sort of thing that happens when someone thinks that they do not need to get a seasoned criminal defense attorney on their side. Do not write a letter to a judge, ever. What you need to do is go see a criminal defense attorney about possible sealing.
