Q: I'm taking care of my child. His father has not done anything only seen him twice. He is trying 2 get custody. Can he ?

He is coconstantly threatening me about taking my child away from me

A: This guy is a blow hard. Let him say whatever he wants. You know what they say: "Action (or money) talks, but BS walks." Unless you are beating this kid or starving him, it's unlikely that he or she will be taken from you. (Take care of your kid, though. You need to treat the child well and shelter him or her from these disputes you and the father are having.) One thing you can do is to make sure that you aren't being a b---- about visitation. Get over the fact that this dude is ignoring his support obligation. Turn that issue over to DHR...sooner or later they will get him, and if he's this far behind in support, they'll put him in jail in some Alabama Counties! You need to do what you can, if it's possible, to foster a relationship between the child and his father. Now dad might make that impossible by HIS actions. But you want to make sure YOU aren't making it impossible because of YOUR actions. Help them have visits. Your kid will be a healthier kid if he or she has a healthy relationship with the dad.
