A: Is there a custody order anywhere? If there is a custody order in Alabama if MIGHT be possible to address this issue in Alabama. If there has never been a custody order, or if the order giving the mother custody is out of Georgia or some other state, you will probably need to go where the child lives or to the state where the custody order was entered. There is something known as the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) that governs this issue. Consult with a lawyer and take him or her all of your documents, court orders, etc.
