Q: If I am Receiving state assistance food stamps/ medical am I enforced to pay child support ?
I am on state assistance with my family and my ex sprung child support on me. I had been ruled to pay yet, after hearing that I am on state assistance the lawyer removed himself from the case. I don`t understand what is going on but I was told that he should have not been able to come after me for child support. how do I go about clearing up my case or arrearage ?
A: The court will likely ask you why you have not gotten a job. If you are unable to work, they will be looking for evidence in support of that claim.
