Shreveport, LA asked in Car Accidents for Louisiana

Q: can i be sued for damages from a car accident that was not my car??

I'm being sued for 23,000 worth of damages in a car accident I had in Dec. 2009. After getting a job last month I found out that this is on my credit report until 2019.

A: If you were the driver who caused the accident, the answer is "yes." It makes no difference that you were not the owner of the car.
