Santa Ana, CA asked in Family Law for California

Q: My ex just retired & I did not receive this month's child support. What can I do?

I just found out my ex husband who lives in California recently remarried and retired from the military.

Our son's and I live in Arizona, I did not receive this month's support and he hasn't called or made any attempt to contact me. I have already sent him e-mails regarding this months support payment. I also called child support services and they said that he retired and that they have nothing to process and that I would have to contact him to pay me while his retirement or new job processes.

I heavily depend on the child support to provide what our son's need. I also work, and I also support my son's.

A: Open up a case with the department of child support services. Also, see about obtaining a wage assignment for any retirement monies received.
