Asked in Animal / Dog Law for Florida

Q: what is the law to claim an abandoned dog.

A dog was left in my care over a month ago. The owner has not been able to be reached and has not provided food for the dog. We have been caring for this dog with our own money since she came to our home. If the owner wants the dog back are we obligated to return the dog to her. What is the length of time before the dog is considered abandoned.
