Q: How can i bring my biological parents to usa

I have green card through adoption .My adoptive father passed away for many year. How can i bring my biological parents to usa. If i marry the us citizen , can i abandon my green card and get new green card through my spouse .Then after i become us citizen . I can bring my biological parents . I do not know will this work?

A: Do you want to bring your parents to the US to live permanently or just to visit? If you want to bring them here permanently, sponsor them for a green card, citizenship, etc, then you need to be a US citizen yourself and be above age 21. If you have had your green card for at least 5 years, can you fill out the N-400 and get naturalized to become a US citizen?

I've never dealt with a green card via adoption before. I assume it is the same as a normal green card (e.g. not conditional like with a fiancee visa) although I could be wrong. If I'm right, though, then the marrying a US citizen thing you mentioned sounds like it is completely unnecessary.

My 2 cents. Again, I could be wrong.
