Q: If summons cannot be served
If summons cannot be served on a person, what happens at the pre-trail? Do things proceed as if the person was served the papers?
A: Nothing can proceed in the case if the person was not served unless the person voluntarily submits to the jurisdiction of the court without being served. That is called a waiver of service of process.
