Q: My daughter was shot and killed while she was five months pregnant. the state attorneys office refuses to file charges

The man was showing guns and checked all except for a 22 caliber which was loaded and cocked and pointed at my pregnant daughter who was 5 months along he shot her in the head her baby was delivered and lived 30 mins after birth Her and her husband were visiting this man The man has never been charged or arrested and they say it was accidental I feel he had a duty of care and should be charged with manslaughter not just for her death but also the babys and I cant get anyone to help me get justice for my daughter and grandson i dont know who to turn to.My daughter leaves behind a 6yr old little boy who resides with me. I am no concerned about wrongful death I want justice criminally. I have never heard of someone killing someone and getting away with it except for oj simpson and robert blake can you please please help me

A: The state attorney makes the decision to file charges. You could sue for wrongful death, but you do not want to do that. You would probably have to pay a ton of money to an attorney to do that anyway.
