The determination of your nephew's disability payment under the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program primarily depends on his own work history and earnings, not on yours or his biological parents'. However, since it sounds like your nephew may be a minor or has not worked,... View More

To adjust your SSI benefits due to a change in your living situation, you should promptly inform the Social Security Administration (SSA) of this change. Since your daughter is now living with you full-time and sharing expenses equally, this is significant information that could affect your benefit... View More

If a judge has issued a fully favorable decision in your Social Security Disability case and determined that your disability began in 2016, you are generally entitled to backpay from the established onset date of your disability. In your case, since you applied in 2018 and the judge recognized your... View More

Typically a child is not eligible for benefits unless the deceased parent worked and was eligible for benefits on their own work record. If your daughter was on SSI then her child would not be eligible for benefits on her record. The child may be eligible for benefits on their father's record... View More

Sometimes you do have to pay some or all of your ssa disability payments to an insurer based on your agreement with the insurer. The HR person at your wife's work may be able to point you to the relevant language in the agreement.

I'll need a little more details to know for sure what the status of your case is. However, I can say that usually once a decision is made on your case, it is sent back to the SSA field office and they issue the decision letters in the mail. They typically won't give you the answer over... View More
