It depends upon what you mean by settlement. If you receive short/long term disability disability, it will depend upon the policy. If you receive a settlement for a bad faith claim from you cause of action, you do not reimburse the insurance carrier.

Yes you can get fired. However, the Texas Labor Code prohibits employers from discharging or discriminating against employees for filing a workers compensation claim, hiring a lawyer to represent them, instituting a proceeding or testifying in a workers compensation claim.

Q: If a worker gets hurt while working on a job and doesn't have a social... will they still be able to sue the company?

Will he be able to get workers compensation? He is injured, he isn't able to work due to his injuries, he now has medical bills, and can't even recieve pain medicine due to no money and no insurance.

If his employer is a subscriber to the Texas Workers' Compensation, it does not matter at all if he actually had a social security number. The workers compensation insurance policy is a private policy which is administered by the Division of Workers Compensation.
