Not aware of any bar to you getting a passport. However, some countries, like Canada, will deny you entry to their countries.
A passport is only proof of citizenship, needed to travel abroad.

This happens all the time, because Legislators favor businesses, not individuals, when it comes to job creation.
Leaving for work this morning there was a car parked in the oncoming lane. Another vehicle traveling toward me would have hit me if I didn't stop. I would think I had the right of way since my lane was clear.
