A: Most speeding fines are imposed according to a schedule, but the amount varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. If you want to know ahead of court, you can call the clerk and ask them the fine amount.

Your speed does indeed qualify this as a "super speeder" ticket. That means that if you are convicted at that speed, the State of Georgia will assess you an additional $200 fine in addition to any fine or punishment you receive in court.

This is a potentially serious violation, and it may have negative consequences for you other than just the Super Speeder fine. I would recommend you consider talking with a local lawyer before going to court or trying to pay the fine ahead of time.

A: I know Tift County State Court very well.

The local court fine for Tift State Court is set according to the court's own fine schedule. You can check with the Clerk's office to determine the local court fine amount for this speed if you were to just plead guilty to the ticket without negotiating the case.

An attorney who is familiar with the court can help you negotiate case to keep the ticket off of your DMV driving record so that your car insurance does NOT increase and you are NOT hit with the additional $200 super speeder that is normally assessed in addition to the local court fine by the State of GA for a conviction 85 mph or greater without you having to appear at court.

However, Tift State Court will not reduce the local court fine even though the ticket is reduced to a non reportable disposition with no $200 Super Speeder fine.

Good luck! Best regards,
