Q: No-Fault Accident, other party is suing.

Hello, I was involved in an accident in Minnesota, where the responding officer cited the accident as "No-Fault." I was going straight East-Bound, the other party was going West-Bound, turning South-Bound at an intersection. The light turned Yellow and we both collided with front end... View More

Contact a member of the Minn Assn for Justice for the county where it happened. You had the right of way. They should have waited for you. If you have collision run yours through your insurance. If you get sued notify your insurance immediately and let them cover it. If there was a camera at the... View More

Q: Was below speed limit, hit ice and skid into a car at a light. No injury/witness, cop issued 169.14.1 ticket. Fight it?

The cops arrived after the other cars mother (who wasn't there nor involved in the accident) called them. We were driving slow since it had snowed earlier, then we hit ice and slowly slid into a car stopped at a stoplight. Tried honking to warn them but they panicked and didn't move. The... View More

You can try it. The point is you weren't able to stop, so some judges will take the position you should not have been driving at all if you couldn't stop. Now, if you had been able to stop all the way there and then suddenly there was a part you couldn't seem to stop on, a judge may... View More

I obviously let my neighbor know immediately and she is devastated. I am wondering if we should call the cops or if there is nothing they could/would do about it. I have seen the car before and know they live in the area. Is this a crime? Should I get the car's license plate number? Or is... View More

If you wish to discuss your case with an attorney, you could simply ask. However, in many firms, until a case is developed to the point of being prepared for depositions and other pre-trial activities, it is often paralegals who are most familiar with the file. Paralegals gather much of the initial... View More

A suggestion would be to inform the office respectfully that you’d like to speak directly to the attorney about a particular matter. Sure accommodations could be made. Every firm handles this differently. Good luck to you.

I was driving very slowly but there was no stopping, the car kept sliding on slusshy snow and hit the pole holding the street names. The pole tilted a bit. You could call and check with police. Whether they want to respond directly may depend on the amount of damage to the sign pole. You may want to check with your insurance company to see if you have coverage, and whether they need a police report. They might not other than a hit & run hitting... View More

Not clear what you received a ticket for, if it is a no point may as well pay it, if it's a point violation or DUI you need to get with an attorney who handles tickets in the Court that will hear the case--plead not guilty, drop off the not guilty plea with any payment, get with an attorney.... There is no way to age traffic violations on a person's drivers license record with Minnesota Department of Public Safety, faster than time passing in the normal way.

The only way to solve that problem would be to file a motion to reopen the case with the court, get the court to allow...

Q: My nephew, 24, lives with me and was hit by a car. He had xrays done at the emergency room. Injuries are minimal.

He has no car insurance, he's not a driver. They said auto insurance of another relative can be used? What? Why not his Health insurance.

Yes, if he does not have an auto and therefore no insurance of his own, some auto policy and if none then a state Assigned Claims for autos would provide No-Fault Auto coverage. This is a bit complicated and you should contact an atty to help you.

For the woman--it's knocked down to inattentive. For the truck driver? Workers comp, wraparound wage loss, p.i. claim.

Serious enough charge that the woman should consult an attorney, the driver should contact a member of the the Minn. ASn for Justice--they give free consults.
