My son is 16 years old with a driving permit. He received a speeding ticket going 19 mph over the speed limit. I was in the car with him. What will a conviction do to his permit if I pay and will he have to go to safety driving school if we go to court?

Upon a conviction, his GDL restrictions would be extended. What he should do is request court supervision, which will not work against him as a conviction. You will have to attend court with him, and he will be required to complete a special course for underage drivers.

No unless you have a marijuana card there is no implied consent requirement to take those tests and there is no penalty for refusing.

No. Like an expensive parking ticket. But pay them to avoid penalties if you must run them.
The ticket does not provide a place to request supervision. Payment can be mailed in. Appearance is not mandatory.

Most likely, in order to request and receive supervision, you have to go to court. Not all counties have a supervision by mail option.
I presented my insurance card to the States Attorney office's and that is when i found out my insurance has lapsed. Now he is the one introuble. I have since then insured my vehicle thru a different company. What are we looking at

Go to court with him along with proof you have insurance now. They will give you court supervision (protecting the license), although they will require him to carry SR 22 for a period of time.
Untill this year I didn't know that the other driver filed a claim, the approximate damage looked around $1000 but it turned out that he filed a claim for more than $11.000.

You can enter into a payment plan with the insurance company if you can agree upon an amount. As long as you stick with the payment plan your license will not be suspended. Or you can write off the debt and bankruptcy. Or win the case in court.

I was given two pieces of paper, the actual ticket and then something on court supervision and traffic school. There's also an area with a bunch of different fines. I dont know what I need to pay or what I need to do and the officer that pulled me over wasn't helpful.

Take the traffic school option. Because of your age you must show up in court and must be with a parent or guardian.

You have options. Ask for supervisor on the major one. File a motion to vacate the conviction on the minor one and convert to supervision. Supervision on both is best.
Best move is hire a lawyer.

It depends upon how deep the background check is. Anybody looking up your name online would be able to see the original charge was a Class A or B misdemeanor (depending on your speed), both of which are criminal offenses.

That isn’t a violation. Probably 11-601. Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident most likely. Part of the speeding section. It’s a minor violation.

I think it’s worth it. It’s painful to lose your license and deal with the Secretary of State. A lawyer who has a lot of experience with the court system in your county will have a lot better chance of saving your supervision than you would on your own.

It appears the cop asked you to submit to a blood or breath test. If you refused his direct request to you, that is a refusal for which your license can be suspended. The ER blood draw does not cure the refusal.
To court they continued my case till they get my blood work test results. How are they waiting for my results if I refused to take the blood test

If the cop asked you to take a blood or breath test and you refused that is a refusal if they got a warrant and you gave blood or even if you were admitted to the ER and the doctor took blood.

By law, judge can grant you supervision twice within a 12 month. However, supervision is not automatic.
