Q: After a expungement filing, who am I responsible for contacting versus the court?

After an expungment is filed, who does the court contact and who is it my responsibility to contact in order to have the charges removed from their records? In general, who, if any of these agencies in Oklahoma would likely charge a fee to have the information removed?

Frank A. Urbanic answered on Apr 19, 2018

Are you filing an expungement, or is an attorney filing one for you? These are pretty confusing for someone not familiar with the law, so I highly suggest you hire an attorney for this.

Also, the expungment doesn't happen just because you file a petition. The expungment happens after...

However much is needed to impair the driver. If you are charged then you need to hire an attorney. Asking a bunch of questions online will not make your problem go away.

If you want to ever drive then you need to have your driving privilege restored. Doesn’t matter that you never had a license. You have to do the ADSAC to restore your driving privileges.

Q: I got my first dui and it was aggrivated because I blew so high. It’s my first time getting in trouble with the law.

I can’t afford a attorney and I asked my bondsman if I should apply for a public defender and he said if he was me I should defend myself and plea guilty but accept the court cost and fine but no jail time. But I don’t know how that would workout I just need a few answers.

First don’t follow the legal advice of someone who is not a lawyer. You can probably afford an attorney. If you don’t have a job then get a job. If you have a job then get a second job. Borrow money from friends/family. Sell/pawn things. Get a second mortgage. I’m always amazed at how... Read more »

Q: my 14 yr old is being charged with a felony for possession schedule 1 in school. what kind of trouble is he looking at?

This is his 1st offense except for a few fights in school which he either got suspended or ISS. the petition states to make him a ward of the court and committed to the care, custody, and control of such persons or institutions as the court deems just and proper. what does that mean?

Frank A. Urbanic
Frank A. Urbanic answered on Jan 7, 2018

No clue why he'd be charged with a felony. As of July 1, 2017, that offense is a misdemeanor. Hire an attorney who knows the law.
