There should be information on your ticket which details when you can pay---I certainly assume that you can still pay now. That said, I would recommend that you contact a traffic ticket lawyer or 2 in the area/jurisdiction where the ticket was issued and find out whether or not they think you can... Read more »

Q: I had a contract with a owner of a property. We were doing a lease to own purchase. We had 9 months left to pay and it

Would be paid off. The owner sold it to another party. Is this legal. Even if we went in default ,but we're never told we were in default. Never missed a payment.

Since you indicate the property has been sold, if this is important to you, then you need to immediately contact a real estate and/or contract lawyer, bring the contract you have for the lawyer to review and then obtain your options. Good luck.

Since this sounds contentious, you should consult with a few estate /probate attorneys in your area, discuss your specific case with them, and then hire the one with whom you are most comfortable. You need to do this so that you become aware of the options available to you.

If you had insurance covering the vehicle, then you need to report the accident to your insurance company and let it handle this matter----that is why you have insurance (plus the law makes it mandatory for you to do so). The insurance company will investigate the accident and assuming you are at... Read more »

Q: Can an officer issue a citation for careless driving, for hitting a pole but did not witness it, but a witness did
Randy Bryan Ligh

Yes----quite often in matters involving accidents and damage to property, a ticket is issued based on the law enforcement officer's investigation, which does not include his witnessing any portion of the accident/collision.

If your son has a lawyer, then you should direct these questions to his lawyer. If your son does not have a lawyer, then you should seek to hire a lawyer for him. Q: Is a speeding ticket voidable if it contains inaccurate information?

I was issued a speeding ticket in Tangipahoa Parish. The trooper put the incorrect time, 1045 instead of 945, and also the wrong registration expiration year, 2021 instead of 2022. Am I able to contest the ticket as voidable for inaccurate information?

Randy Bryan Ligh
Randy Bryan Ligh answered on May 31, 2021

You can contest it and if done properly it attacks the credibility of the trooper but it still may not be enough to cast reasonable doubt whether or nor you were speeding----in that regard, it's sorta what is the allegation of how many mphs you were speeding.

No other criminal charges. Parties involved believe their drinks were durgged and do not remember much of the night. Had a ride on the phone to pick them up at time of contact with officer.

DWIs are serious matters these days---based on your post you believe you have some defenses and there appears to be some confusion----hire a DWI or criminal defense attorney to represent you. If there are multiple defendants, then each defendant will need a separate attorney. Good luck.

While I hope it never comes to this, however, if you live in a community property state and/or you jointly own assets, then it is possible that you could be made a part of a lawsuit seeking to seize assets in which you have an interest. Of course, before this occurs, there would have to be a... Read more »
