Nobody can force you to do anything against your will. However, if you do get bedbugs later, you may not have a recourse against the landlord. Many leases have language as to maintenance, but I would be interested in learning if they have a clause against bedbugs prevention. Talk to the City... View More

Call your insurance company and inform them of your accident. If you have the police report take it to an attorney and let him help you. Best of luck.
I have to move out because my family is moving. I have a stable job with provable income. My roommate and I are both 18 and easily make enough but since we have no rental history we’re worried if we can be denied based on age.

If you are already a tenant just continue paying the rent. Worry about your age and income when they question you. Best of luck!.

No. It is not reasonable. An agreement is a meeting of the minds. The landlord’s refusal to provide the old lease could be interpreted as superior knowledge and advantage. Insist that the landlord provide the previous lease or retain an attorney. Best of luck.
I wasn’t able to pay rent earlier this month in full and month is almost over, but I notified her that I can make payments once my disability kicks in to pay off my balance. Could she still try to evict me if I haven’t yet paid in full?
answered on Jan 16, 2019
Yes, the landlord could evict you starting on the first day of the month after the partial payment was made. The best thing to do is catch-up with the past and present rent owed, before your LL issues you a 3 Day Notice to Pay or Quit. Best of luck.
My mother's dementia has gotten to the stage where she needs someone there to take care of her at all times.
She isn't on the lease / rental agreement but I do live in an area of Los Angeles county that falls under rent stabilisation which has rules against eviction without good reason.

Look at your lease and find out if there is a clause that states that you may have to pay for another person. If you do, offer to pay for the extra person and you may avoid the hustle of litigation which is very expensive. Sometimes, proactive negotiation is better than all out litigation. Best... View More
I was 2 months behind due to my prev. payment bouncing back. I deposited a payment in her account before I knew she put a notice on my door. Since I made a partial payment and she didn't return it as "not accepted", does this negate the notice I was given? I requested a 1 week... View More

Dec 6th, Flood. Repairs started Dec 17th and estimated to be finished around Jan 5th. Are we required to pay rent for the month of December? Also, please note that I had to pay for movers and storage for this time frame, about $600.

Depending on how the flood happened you may be entitled to being placed in a residence similar to your dwelling. However, you should continue paying rent to avoid an eviction. Best of luck.

You do not have to take a "bad hotel". You have the right to be in a place similar or equal to the abode you reside. If the next town is only a few miles, then you may suggest a different hotel.

Would gas miles and medical supplies that were paid for out of pocket be reimbursed. And when would I the mother release liability to the other party
answered on Dec 19, 2018
This is a most interesting question. You are definitely entitled to reimbursement for all out of pocket expenses on behalf of your son. However, if I understand you correctly, you wish to know if you would be entitled to recovery for your emotional distress.
Although your son’s case... View More

If you have been unlawfully evicted you may file a lawsuit in the Superior court of your county.
There are three things you need to prove:
1. There was a violation of a housing code by the landlord and you repeatedly complained of the violation to the Landlord.
2. You... View More
We learned that the house was in contract phase with a new individual. Now the sale is final and that woman is demanding $ but refuses to turn water on which was part of our initial lease with the initial woman we rented from. What are our options ??
answered on Dec 14, 2018
Assuming you have already sent her a letter telling her to turn the water and she has refused. Call the City inspectors and tell them to cite her for depriving you of water and sewage. Once the city inspects your house and cites her, talk to a Tenant lawyer to advise your further. Best of luck:
