A: Prosecute you? NO, there is no such thing as debtor's prisons in Indiana or any other state that I am aware of. What they can do is sue you for the amount owed, but you should send them what is called a "cease and desist letter" which will restrict them from calling you or anyone else. If they sue you then you should hire a lawyer to help you defend the suit. By threatening to prosecute you they may be violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and if they continue to call you you should make them aware that you are aware of that particular law so they will shut up.
