A: The use of an attorney is not required for a natual person, vs a corporation; however the use of an attorney is recommended, especially for a chapter 13

A: Yes, you really do need an attorney for any bankruptcy. There are petition preparers who fill out the paperwork for you, but they simply cannot give legal advice, only attorneys can. I have seen far too many things go wrong for people who either do it themselves or have a petition preparer fill out forms. At the very least you need to have a conference with a bankruptcy attorney in your area.

A: You are not required to use an attorney to file bankruptcy if you are an individual; however, it is highly recommended.
