Q: Any guidelines in Florida that the court has to follow when dealing with child custody/visitation of autistic children?
What are the laws that a judge has to follow when granting visitation to autistic childs parent whom has not been in childs life (he is 4) for 3 years because he decided not to be. i know there are certain guidlines when dealing with disabled children in court and both parents live hours away from one another. child attends school year round for disabled children. lives with mother. can not afford attorney.
A: He is entitled to full rights to see his kid, however with a special needs child the court will want to make sure he is prepared to handle it - like parenting classes for special needs kids, etc.
