Richmond, CA asked in Real Estate Law for California

Q: I made a contract with a builder to buy a house after 1 year the house is not done, what can I do?

I went to an area were new houses were under construction and decided to purchase one, I had my loan approved, then we signed a contract to build the house to be completed on 6 months. After 6 months the house only had 25% done and then the builder stopped the construction, they did not send any notification about this. after a year the house is not done yet. What are my chances to get the house? can I look for another house without getting in trouble? can I sue and what are my chances to win?

A: The answers to your questions depend on what your agreement of sale says. Schedule an appointment with an attorney in your area, and take the contract with you to the lawyer's office.
