Q: On probation, was not in fight but was on property as 1 that happened. Stepfather threatening to lie and say I hit him.
Was at mothers house when fight broke out btwn my mother and stepsister. I was not near the fight and have several witnesses to vouch. My mother pressed charges against stepdaughter and now her husband is threatening to lie and say I hit him (because he knows I'm on probabtion) unless she drops the charges against his daughter. What are my options? Am I going to be sent to jail? Even though he's lying?
A: If you have witnesses who can say that you did nothing wrong, you have little to worry about. Get those witnesses to write down what they saw, date the statement and sign it. If you are then charged, these statements will be very useful to your lawyer.
