Q: If I've signed a non-disclosure agreement but wasn't given a copy of it and it wasnt witnessed by anyone is it legal?
I was part of a group of friends that entered business together creating a product. Our lead guy had us sign what I believe to be as either a non-disclosure or non-compete agreement. There was no notary or lawyer involved and we were not given any copies of what we signed. The form wasn't even on any type of company letterhead. Is that form even legal? I'm also fairly certain that it wasn't filed with anyone either. We are all leaving the "company" now and some of us want to start up our own business.
A: I cannot say whether the agreement is legal or not without actually reading it. Get a copy right away.
