Asked in Car Accidents for Missouri

Q: A collection agency is asking 5000 dollars for damages I owe from an accident I had and I did not have insurance.

How do I know the charges owed are correct and they are not trying to cheat me? Can they take legal action against me?

A: If you wish to dispute the collection amount, you need to speak with an attorney to contest the collection. If you do not owe the amount, you may have a counter claim against the collection agency.
