Bellefontaine, OH asked in Criminal Law for Ohio

Q: I'm a 42 year old female.I was in a minor auto incident.other driver said everything ok.then he reported me for hit & ru

I have perfect record. Insurance, nothing to hide. The other party said everything ok, no damage. Then an hour later a police officer came to my door and said the kid turned me in for a bit and run! I immediately went to police station and gave my statement as soon as I was informed of what happened! The kid did not even show up for the trial, and they rescheduled it... they didn't let me give my story, which was incorrect on the statement the officer took while he stood as I spoke. The deputy sheriff said he would testify for me, because he was clear on how shocked I was at the charge, and the lawyer I retained I did not know. And he didn't even bring in pictures that would show we were going 2mph. But he wanted me to plead guilty to the hit and skip and then they will drop failure to control. The police deputy said he would show leniency since I Immediately filed a report. He marked the "No criminal charges" checkbox, but they said I was facing several months in jail Idk what

A: Get a new lawyer NOW. This sounds ridiculous.
