Youngstown, OH asked in Domestic Violence for Ohio

Q: my husband has threatened to physically harm me what should i do. we r in a same sex marriage

he stated that he was going to bash my head in to the wall and give me a bloody lip while yelling and breaking things in the house. i have called the cops before but solely to have the prior incedent on the books so that in the case where i actually call the cops to press charges i would have a prior report to back me up in court. am i doing the right thing? If he does it again i will call the cops?

A: Why don't you just leave? You can report him for domestic violence based upon the threat alone, if you really want to. And you can certainly report him, if he hits you. Those are personal decisions, but again, why would you stay in this relationship? Violent partners DO NOT change.
