Maywood, NJ asked in Family Law for New Jersey

Q: is my exhusband responsible for transportation to and from my house to pick up kids for his weekend?

He left and relocated to his mother's. We now live a hour apart and I have had to go back to work. Working two jobs. Often on weekends that he has kids. He wants me to pick up the kids after his weekend. So I wouldn't get them till 9:30 at night on the Sunday's he has them. Instead of him bringing them home at 7 where I could have my brother or mother at the house to be there for them until I got home at 7:30. Shouldn't he pick up and drop off on his weekends?

A: It depends on if there is a court order. If there isn't an order addressing this, you should go back to family court and address this issue before it becomes the status quo and a court may not change it.
