Q: My mother ended up taking my dog, i have records saying she is mine.. what can i do?

5 years ago I got my puppy for free from my mothers friend. two years after having her I asked my mother to watch her while i found a place to live. i came back for her and got my baby back and my mother went to prison, well now she is out and i went to go visit her and i brought my dog and she took her from me and will not give me her.... i have vet papers of when i took her to the vets and recipts of the shots....... what can i do too get my baby back
