Asked in Domestic Violence for Florida

Q: We live in ca, son hit other son on vacation in Florida and was arrested for DV. Can it be dismissed?

We were on a cruise and on the last night, my sons, who shared a room, got into a fight and one son hit the other causing the older one to split a lip. Ship security investigated and police were called. They arrested my 19 year lld son for dom violence. What are chances judge will dismiss it?

A: Chances? Slim. Does that answer your question? What are the grounds for dismissal? You did not mention any, and there must be some, but before you start trying to come up with any, perhaps a private criminal defense attorney should be hired to try to come up with legal reasons why the case should be dismissed. Where, precisely, did this occur? Who actually arrested your son? There might not be jurisdiction, but I do not know enough facts, all I have is what you have written, and that is not enough for any meaningful analysis. What does the police report say?
