Q: New Jersey - Breaking lease and contract questions

I recently signed a 1 year lease on an apartment, but due to sudden job obligations, I cannot commit to the apartment. I have not moved in yet, and as I recall, I signed the contract, but I did not initialize 1 page out of the 20 page contract. This was because there was incorrect information reflected on the page, and the property manager said she will fix that and that we can resolve that once I moved in. Does that mean this contract is NOT in effect, as the contract is not initialized in it's entirety? Can I get away with the lease breaking penalties? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

A: The contract appears to be in effect from the facts that you stated, however without an attorney reviewing the contract it is not possible to know for certain. Good luck.
