Dallas, TX asked in Business Law for Texas

Q: Can i be sued?

Hello my husband and i started a company and within a few weeks of it being started i get a Facebook message from another company owner saying we need to cease and desist our company because we would be confusing her customers and that we copied her company. We had no knowledge of this company and at the time being we have a Facebook, twitter, and instagram pages but have sold 0 items. I am really at loss what to do at this point. She said she is assuming we are uncooperative and is going to seek legal damages against me personally.

A: Best to talk to a local intellectual property lawyer to see if there is any merit to the threats.
