Q: Does a background check have any follow up consequences (insurance, mail/ticket home, ect.)
my girlfriend and I were hanging out in an abandoned parking lot. A police officer showed up walked over to our car and ask for our IDs. He told us to hang tight for a few minutes while he sent our names and license's numbers back to the station. He told us that there had been a lot of theft in the area and that we could leave as soon as he heard back from the station. I heard the radio say "both of the parties came back negative" and the police officer sent us on our way.
we were wondering if this came with any further consequences. he did not write us any ticket or warning and didn't say we did anything wrong. is this just a quick background check or will this end up in a ticket or on our record?
