Q: If the witness that testified in a murder case writes affidavit stating she lied what can happen to the witness?
My fathers been incarcerated for17 years and has life in prison for a murder he did not commit. The mother of my youngest sister was a witness whom testified against him stating he did kill the individual she states that my father confessed to the murder when he was having a nightmare Which she states she was forced To do in order for her to get a lower sentence in a trafiking case that she had open in Louisiana.
A: The witness can be prosecuted for perjury. This is much more complex and you should go speak with a criminal defense attorney.
