Q: Ca i given up all rights to mom and im unable to see my kid why do i have to pay child support? Or do i have to?

Im paying child support now but my kids mother won't let me see my child. If im paying now i should be able to see my kid now? right?

A: Paying child support and getting visitation are two different things. You have to pay support, even if you have given up your parental rights. If the mom won't let you see the kid now, you have to see what the current custody/visitation order says. If a judge has said you can't see your kids, then the mom is doing nothing wrong. If you want to see your kids, you have to ask a judge to order that. This could involve convincing the judge whatever reason you had before that forbade you from seeing your kids is no longer applicable.

Unless there is a good reason (e.g. parent is on drugs), California judges like both parents to be able to see the child.
