Canal Winchester, OH asked in Juvenile Law for Ohio

Q: my godson has been unruly and has had the cops called on him multiple times

the police have yet to do anything with him, he is 11 and the cops just brought him home off the bus for getting in a fight. and just thinking it was funny to be brought home by the police, is there anything we can do like have him put on probation, into a juvenile detention center?? He has a huge problem with authority whether its parents, teachers, when it does not go his way he wont cooperate. he is corrected when need be, but not sure what else we can do with him, the officers that usually have to come out tell him that they can not arrest him due to his oppositional defiance disorder(told not to do something but chooses to do so because he feels like it even if its wrong)

A: Get your godson the help he needs from a psychiatrist. Don't try to force him into the juvenile system. First, you really can't do anything but report his misbehavior and see whether the police decide to do anything about it. Second, once he is in the system things are likely to get worse not better.
