Q: Can a judgement creditor add on other rental related charges to the enforceable amount awarded by the court?
I settled with a property management company for $1277 and then 1 month later received a collection bill for $3942, when I called the collection company I found at that it was for the same thing I went to court for except they had added on another months rent etc.
A: No. In general if you settled with them and a judgment was entered reflecting the settlement amount, they cannot ask for more.
