Q: Are contractors who filp a house for investment purposes, liable for repairs for work done incorrectly, after they sell?
We purchased a home from contractors about 6 months ago, who "flipped" the home... this was an investment property for them. We recently found that the master bedroom shower was leaking through to the basement ceiling. It was discovered that the shower pan was installed incorrectly. The repair costs are approximately $5,000. Are the contractors we bought the home from, obligated to pay for the repairs?
A: They might try to argue that you should have discovered this on inspection, but I doubt that their argument would ... "hold water". So yes, it appears that they are obligated.
