Q: If my child support was terminated can the state reopen it without notice

A: There is not enough detail in your question for anyone to answer it. Why was your child support terminated? By 'the state', do you mean child support enforcement in NC? And I don't know what you mean by "reopen it without notice." I can tell you that you are obligated to support your children if you are able to do so, and you can be sued for child support at anytime before your youngest child turns 18. So if something has changed with your financial, custodial or legal situation since your child support was terminated, the child support can be reviewed and reinstated. But you would get notice in the form of the opportunity to come to court for a hearing, unless the termination order had terms that would allow child support to be automatically reinstated based on a certain deadline, date or event, such as becoming employed or getting out of jail.
