Lake Worth, FL asked in Domestic Violence for Florida

Q: What can I do if my daughter was beat up by her father's girlfriend's child?

Three years ago, my child came to me saying that she was getting beat up almost every weekend when she visits her father. She said that the other child had pushed her in the shower making her hit her head on the faucet. Cut her foot open when she pushed her into the tv stand, and told her she hoped my child would die every time she attacked. She also said it when the girlfriend would smoke and my child would get asthma attacks. I confronted her father and thought I had put a stop to it when I said I wanted my child to have no contact with them but, I just found out a few days ago that he's been bringing my child to her house and letting her babysit. Every weekend he would tell me they were spending father daughter time together and that the bully was not around. I do not know what to do. How can I protect my child when he keeps lying? I did not know any of this was going on because he told my child that if she told me, the cops would be called and she would be taken away.

A: I do not see how you can effectively deal with these problems without getting an attorney involved. Go see a few.
