Q: My son purchased a cat from a county animal control center in Ohio and the cat became very sick within 24 hours
He took the cat to an emergency veterinary clinic and has already paid a $400 deposit and may incur another $400 of charges for them to treat the sick cat - what is the responsibility of the animal control center that gave him this sick animal - can he recoup any of these veterinary fees?
A: That will depend upon the terms of the contract between your son and the animal control center. My guess is the contract will say all animals are purchased as is with absolutely no guarantees as to their health.
