My husband has been in and out of the hospital for his heart for a week with surgeries so he never got the call from the company. She wrecked on her way to work last night and we have a loan on the car. I don't know what to do
A: Check with the insurance company to find out what the effective date of cancellation is. You should have received a letter from them; not just a phone call. Also, the finance company may have umbrella coverage to protect its interest in case coverage of a buyer such as you is cancelled.

You want to look at the postmark of the letter you get from them. Many insurance companies hold mail and then send it out a week or so later just to save a penny or two! Hopefully he's covered if it looks like they didn't send mail on time.
Note they only have to send it to the address they have--if you move,don'ttell them, it's on you.
