Everett, MA asked in Immigration Law for Massachusetts

Q: Overstayed B1 visa since 2000. I lost my passport, but have photocopies of 1st pages. I want 2 marry my US GF.Get GC?

I came as a visitor to the USA on a B1 visa in 2000. I haven't left this country since. I lost my passport, which included my original visa. Luckily I made copies of the important pages on it, including the ones with my personal info & picture, as well as the page with the original US visa. I've been going out with a US citizen GF for since Spring this year and we're planning on getting married. I want to know whether I can apply for my permanent residence thru marriage. We're planning on traveling back to my country and also marry there, so my family gets to celebrate with us, but definitely we'd marry there only if I have a temporary green card.
