Q: Out of state divorce
My husband and I want to file for divorce. We are registered in California but he lives somewhere else and I live in Russia. We have no children and not many assets. We want to divide our assets ourselves. How do we go about getting divorced?

What does registered in California mean? To file divorce in CA, one of you has to have lived in CA for the 6 months prior to the filing of the case, 3 of which must be in the county in which the case is filed.
